Access is dedicated to feeding, warming, and sheltering those who need it in Jackson County, Oregon. They have 12 programs designed to help residents with a plethora of needs. These programs include food projects, housing stabilization, financial education, disaster relief, loaning out medical equipment, veterans’ services, affordable housing, shelter programs, energy assistance, weatherization for your home, help with homeownership, and the wig program for women experiencing medical hair loss.
Some services need paperwork and proof of income. Low-income housing can receive a one-time payment toward an electric bill each year. The weatherization program can provide efficient energy measures for homes that stay too cold or too hot during extreme weather conditions. Eligible residents can apply to weatherize their home at no cost. Access can also help qualified renters own their homes with specialized help.
There are also programs that have no eligibility requirements. There are 34 emergency food pantries across Jackson County that help anyone in need of food. You don’t need ID, proof of income, or housing. You can even send a trusted person to pick up food for you. Durable medical equipment, including unopened adult diapers, is available to the public with the same specifications. Access only asks that you sign a liability waiver for the equipment you borrow and that it be returned in working condition, if possible. Women with medical hair loss, including cancer patients, can access the volunteer and donation-only Over the Top Wig Program. 80 Women received head covers in 2025, free of charge, to help with their day-to-day confidence.
