Barnstormers Event at the Expo brings hundreds of people together to support local small businesses

From May 1-3, 2026, Shelly Britt threw her 7th annual Barnstormers Event at the Expo in Central Point. She tells us about her favorite reasons for putting on this event, “it gives vendors a really fun and cool place to sell their products, and I get comments like how well they did, and how much fun they had. It’s touching to see the support local makers and shops receive.” She also gets feedback from consumers telling her, “They come here to find unique, handmade, and special gifts for loved ones, and that makes it even more meaningful.” Admission was $5 with two canned food donations to the Neighborhood Food Project.

About 100 vendors set up on Friday, the 1st, and for some, it was their first impression with Barnstormers. Check out the video at the top to listen to the vendors talk about how this event impacts their lives. The weekend event was a success thanks to the hundreds of people who came to browse and shop for unique, handmade items. Connections were made between vendors and consumers in memorable ways. These small businesses were supportive and kind to one another, and many new friends were made. There were also many food trucks available to cater to those who got hungry or thirsty. A pop-up bar was available for people over 21. Many people enjoyed samples of snacks and drinks while shopping. Children were able to pick out unique toys and clothing and play with a wide variety of items.
